During the spring semester of my junior year of college, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. I fell in love with this country instantly — the rainforests, coral reefs, mountains, desert, all of it. From the small rounded window of the plane, I gazed down on the blue green swirls of the Great Barrier Reef for the first time. Little did I know, three months after that first glance I would be below the surface exploring corals taller than buildings. This country takes your expectations and blows them through the roof. Needless to say, five months in Australia was not enough, and I will be back.
